Lifesong!

Lifesong for Orphans is a non-profit Christian ministry dedicated to helping meet the needs of orphan children around the world.  We recently contacted Lifesong and they have graciously set up a fundraising account for us to raise the rest of the funds for Asher's adoption. 

What does this mean? 

It means that as you, our family and friends,  prayerfully consider our adoption, you will now have a tax-deductible way to donate money if God is calling you to do so!  Between now and February 14th (around the time we will travel), Lifesong will accept donations for our family and then give them to us as an adoption grant to cover adoption expenses.  All donations given through Lifesong are tax-deductible and you will receive a tax-deductible receipt. 

100% of the all funds raised will go directly to cover adoption costs and Lifesong takes nothing out for administrative costs.  This is an amazing opportunity! 

Donations can be made payable to Lifesong for Orphans with our last name in the memo section (preference Gour #1762 adoption) and mailed to:

Adoption can cost between $25,000-$35,000 and prevents many godly families from adopting.  We REFUSE to allow this to stand in our way, so this opportunity is very exciting for us.

We still have close to $18,000 to raise before we can actually become Asher's family!  Please join us in prayer that God will provide all the funds necessary in the next two months so that we can bring our boy home for good!

Sorry this has taken me so long to post. The Gours were taken down by a horrific stomach bug that has been making it's rounds here!  And, we still have not fully recovered.  But.....

The Thirty-One fundraiser is over and I would like to thank all the sweet friends that helped us out by doing some of their Christmas shopping through our catalog sale!  We received word  that we raised $113 towards Bringing Asher Home! 

And, as promised.  One of these lucky gals is going to be able to order their own cookie Bouquet from my friend, Stephanie at Cookie Capers!

We are officially a Wild Olive Family for the month of December.  Wild Olive Tees has agreed to work with us to raise money for our adoption!  How sweet is that?  The way this works is that we have a family code (GOUR1203) and if you buy one of the adoption fundraiser shirts and put our family code in we get $7.50 per shirt.  IF we happen to sell 50 shirts or more, we will get $10.00 per shirt!

Treasured Pearls

Treasured Pearls is the name of another adoption blog. What is so interesting about it is that the family it belongs to has decided to do something radical for this Christmas season! It's called The 24 Days of Giving. During the first 24 days of December they are highlighting one adoption family that is fundraising and on that last day, Christmas Eve, they are drawing a name from their list and giving a sizable donation to that family for their adoption! Merry Christmas!
