Beautiful Life

Hey child up and go; A big world is out there waiting for us to live in every day. Outside you will find, there is love all around you; Takes you, makes you wanna' say; That it's a beautiful life and it's a beautiful world and it's a beautiful time to be here, to be here, to be here. -Fisher

No News

We do not have our travel approval yet and therefore there is no new news! I was given an indication by our agency that they may have news for us Monday, so we hang-in there until it comes.

In the mean time, life goes on and we have lots to keep us busy. Here is list of SOME of the things I need to do before we go:
  • Upload my camera software to Paul's laptop
  • Put together a small photo album of pictures of the house, pets and family members for Claire to see when we get her.
  • Get a car seat
  • Get some sippy cups
  • Get some diapers and wipes (no she is not potty trained)
  • Pack
  • Weigh the luggage to be sure it does not exceed the limits for in-China travel
  • Repack because I am sure it will!
  • Gather all the documents on the checklist
  • Write 2 weeks worth of lesson plans for the children to do while we're gone
  • Buy two weeks worth of groceries for the children to eat while we're gone
  • Write out their daily schedule so they will get their schoolwork done and get to ball practices etc...
  • Arrange for someone to come help the boys with some of their school work
  • Get the crib out of the attic and put it together
  • pick up antibiotics (just in case)
  • get more vaccines
  • Exchange $7000 for CRISP NEW $100 bills because China will only accept CRISP NEW bills
  • Buy the gifts, gift bags and tissue paper for the officials in China
  • Get electric outlet adapters and money belts
  • Book International flight tickets
  • Get our visas back from the courier
  • Get the toys out of the attic and clean them up
  • Wash all the toddler clothes I got out of the attic
  • download Skype or reserve a Panda Phone to communicate with the children while we are in China.

I am certain that this is not a complete list because I continue to add to it daily. In the midst of all this I still have to conduct our home school 5 days a week, teach the Wednesday preschool class that I committed to earlier this year, deal with baseball and piano practices and soon the games will begin, keep my house clean and straight, keep the pantry full, run the errands........................you get the picture!

This week we were on spring break so I tried to get a little more than usual done.

  • Made our appointment with the Adoption Clinic and the Spina Bifida Clinic
  • Got our prescription for antibiotics
  • Sent our passports and visa applications off to get our visas
  • Found all the toddler clothes in the attic
  • Found the diaper bag in the attic
  • Researched flights
  • Contemplated club-foot doctors and treatments
  • Transferred home movies to DVD to free up tapes to take to China
  • Shampooed the carpets because that sweet girl will spend a lot of time on them
  • Rearranged the living room so we can all move better in there
  • Read some more of the book, Attachment In Adoption
