It seems like they were born just yesterday, and then,

Blink

It's their 13th birthday and my babies are young men!

Okay, maybe it's possible it didn't happen that fast. It sure didn't seem to go by fast when we were changing double diapers and giving double bottles....and listening to double screams until 2:00 in the morning. When we would just put them in the car and drive around until they fell asleep! But, everyday it seems to go by faster and faster.

I can't seem to slow it down.

So, we enjoy every minute that we have.
It's hard to believe that they could actually be leaving our house in 5-7 years!

This is what 13 year olds look like. Get a good look Significant Source. This will happen to you too! And, I am aware that they look suspiciously like 12 year old boys....but, no! They are definitely not 12. They are 13. There is a huge difference.

Pray for me y'all!

Because if Noah shows me his armpit hair (the ONE he's got) one more time......

No, pray for their father. You see, he has taken the boys on a guys only weekend. A coming of age trip, so to speak. To ummmm......have some man time. In the wilderness. To do manly things. And have manly talks....about stuff. Manly stuff. If you catch my drift......

And y'all, we are such homeskoolers
that we bought a curriculum* for this.

Complete with projects!

Our kids are so gonna get us back one day!

Ha ha ha I am rolling here. I have a 12 year old and YES! So sick of hearing about his armpit hair and smelling his across the room BO, and seriously, his mustache?? don't even get me started. And the manly talk. ha ha! really great dad there. projects that go with that??? I need to know what "curriculum" that is. (we are homeschooling too)

Awww. They really are such wonderful guys! We're glad to know them. I hope their birthday is memorable in all sorts of good ways, and that they have a very special weekend with their dad.

And you can say it all you want to...but I'm NOT letting mine get any bright ideas about becoming teenagers. See, Parker and Noah are your OLDEST kids. (Well, except for Lizzie) You still have tiny people at home to snuggle and baby and all. The teenager thing is all new and exciting. I, on the other hand, have been there and done that TWICE already and have no more BABIES to love on. I have to put a stop to things right here and now. Twelve will be the maximum allowable age for at least the next five years. Then we'll recalculate. And anyway, Zach still has a mouth full of baby teeth so I'm good.

Armpit hair?? Veeeerrry COOL! You should take a picture for posterity.

The boys send birthday wishes and MUCH envy to your newly minted teens!

Hilarious post!! Love the armpit hair thing! lol But you are soooo right.....it goes by too fast, and there is a definite difference between 12 and 13!!! Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall (if there is one where they are) when dad does the talk?? I HATED doing that with my daughter. It felt like she truly lost her innocence. =(

Haha!! Love the armpit hair - yep, I remember those days!! Oh - and Hezra is right - we would have to stare at his upper lip to see is "mustache". Boys are so funny!
