Beautiful Life

Hey child up and go; A big world is out there waiting for us to live in every day. Outside you will find, there is love all around you; Takes you, makes you wanna' say; That it's a beautiful life and it's a beautiful world and it's a beautiful time to be here, to be here, to be here. -Fisher

What you've all been waiting for...

No, we haven't finished the kitchen yet.

No, we aren't adopting again.......yet.

But, after much paint flingin'....

Un-Extreme Home Makeover: Phase III, Part 2

Whew!

Even the boys got roped into helping!

They were thrilled with this opportunity.
Can't you just see it on their faces.

We finished the girls room and furniture!
Then the boys ran down to get the bunk beds....some assembly required.
Of course.

Claire supervised!

'Cause she was the only one that could read the directions, you know!

And, I pretty much let the kids put the beds together.

That's safe, right?

Right?

RIGHT?

RIGHT?

Say right!

Because, they totally did put it together themselves!

Awwww, isn't that sweet looking!

It's very fresh looking and....ummmm, colorful!

But, then you all know that Isabel is a colorful kinda girl.

Remember Our Own Personal Rainbow? Remember?
Yeah. Colorful.

So

We have

a finished project!

Well.....
(insert sound of screeching halt)

almost.
Daddy has spent the last two weekends
building a beautiful bookcase,
on which most of this junk pile will be organized.
One day I will have a finished project in this house.
One day.

HAHAHA! You crack me up. Their room looks so pretty!! Really. Yes, I know the last shelf thing is a bit of a problem but it will come together. I am so amazed you let them do it.(I don't mean that in a how could you way)I mean, I never think to get them too involved. I am a goof like that. Then when I do, I think DUH! I have been working too hard. It is colorful, but really pretty. And the white furniture is perfect to balance the color. Good job!(oh, my hubby built a shelf too. lol I asked for like 3ft tall by 4ft long. He decided to make it 4 ft tall and 6 ft long. HEAVY. lol it will be in that spot forever.) Keep on rolling. I will post pics if I EVER GET A SINGLE ROOM DONE!!!!

I read lots of blogs. I think you do everything just about spot-on! Having your kids invest their own sweat equity in putting their rooms together is so smart, IMHO. Teamwork, pride, being able to select their own colors (it's only paint...) - what a terrific way to raise a family. Kudos from me!

Beautiful! And that pink is the same color as Grace's room.

Still waiting to see that kitchen.

The room is adorable!! I love that they painted it themselves, and you were sooo laid back with the painting process! Keeps us all in check with not sweating the small stuff.

I think it is probably much safer than if I had tried to put it together:) What a great sense of accomplishment they must have!!
