Beautiful Life

Hey child up and go; A big world is out there waiting for us to live in every day. Outside you will find, there is love all around you; Takes you, makes you wanna' say; That it's a beautiful life and it's a beautiful world and it's a beautiful time to be here, to be here, to be here. -Fisher

Growing up is hard....

for Mama to let happen! I snapped this picture as the boys headed off to the store....alone...on their bikes....for the first time! They had to cross a major highway! Okay......maybe that's an exaggeration. More like a two lane road. With a traffic light. And they were on the green-way bike path that runs past our neighborhood all the way to the Bi*Lo. And, they are almost 13.....But that doesn't mean I have to like it. Why do they have to grow up? That's what I want to know. It was fine when it was my sister's kids that would ride up to the store in the summers. That was someone else's kids growing up. NOT MINE! Not my sweet, little boys. How could this happen? And, it was their Dad's idea....that alone is shocking! He is not the "let um do it, their old enough" kinda Dad, people. He's the one that freaked out the first time I let them ride around the block alone...with walkie-talkies. Plus also, he wanted them to wear life jackets....oh wait, that was my mother-in-law! :)

We don't have a store within biking distance, but I get the same feeling when the boys go play in the woods alone. Although...right now they aren't allowed because of rattlesnakes and baby coyotes, but when they are...

So when do the cousins descend on CHarleston? Soon, right?

Yes this would have been hard for me to let my kids do too. But if they are responsible.....
