It's Off!

When we had our twins and they turned out to be two boys.....well, we were warned that we would be spending time in the ER. I didn't doubt that when I looked over the our upstairs balcony one Saturday morning to see a 2 year old Noah walking on the kitchen counters.....you know, to get his own cereal. The boys were full on kinda boys. They ran everywhere, threw everything, jumped off anything. So, it wouldn't have really surprised me. But, WE MADE IT TWELVE YEARS without one emergency that warranted a trip to a hospital. Oh, we had a few random surgeries and an x-ray here and there, but no last resort trips to the ER. Not surprisingly, I got comfortable with this......I even remarked recently to someone about how we'd never had a trip to the ER with the boys. That is a death kiss, you know. I should have known better, right? But, after six of the longest weeks of his 12 1/2 years.......

The cast came off!

Hey, look there. It's my arm.

Looks a little different.

Claire was not thrilled with the saw. It brought back too many memories for her, I guess. Isabel was a great big sister to comfort her baby sis.

Noah is thrilled! His arm is sore, but otherwise healed. The specialist at MUSC feels that he is fine and will have no issues with his growth plate. He showed us the x-rays for the first time and boy he really did break it. I'm glad now that I didn't see the x-ray earlier. Now that it's healed I'm fine with it! Oh, but he did get orders to stay off the rip-stick....at least for two weeks! That's okay, he plans to spend all his free time at the pool!

I'm glad he got it off. Now he can go back to being a real boy and break something else this time. :)

yay! hit the pool buddy!! WE have a 5 yo who has been to the ER every year of his life so far. the first time was his first week of walking! He hit his head because he went from staggering to running. stitches on his forehead. AND it was the week we were getting our homestudy done and picking up his baby sister! really awful!

How sweet of Isabel to take care of her sister.

I can see Ellie doing all of those things. She doesn't know she's supposed to be "disabled."
