Valentines, and then some!

Valentine's Day was a busy day for this family! We started off with Isabel's basketball game at 11am. It was a good one. That kid is a basketball player, I tell you, and she didn't get it from me. I'm guessing this is her father coming out in her....or maybe it's a little of Brianna, and dare I admit, that comes from my sister Amy, the only athletic one of the bunch!

That's MY baby!

After the game, the girls and I packed up and headed to Columbia (2 hour drive) for a baby shower. Paul's sweet cousin Liz is having a baby boy in March! We had a nice time with family and Claire did very well around all the Aunts and cousins! She even let me out of her sight and played with Ms. Ann while I was socializing!

Tea party with sweet Ms. Ann, a family friend, at the baby shower! Michelle will be thrilled to know that Ms. Ann then gifted Claire with her first stuffed Cocky! Go Carolina!

We headed back to Charleston around 5 o'clock so we could have our Valentines dinner. It is a long standing tradition that the kids and I cook a nice dinner for Paul, complete with candles, table cloth and china. Well, I wasn't exactly there to do that this year, so Paul and the boys ran and got Lizzie and they carried on the tradition! Lizzie prepared her signature dinner of shrimp-n-grits! The boys set a beautiful table and Paul paid a visit to our favorite candy shop, Kilwin's!

Daddy with his girl! She made him a cute little gift of a toilet paper roll wrapped in pink tissue paper and that had an Earl Grey tea bag (his choice of morning drink) in it. Interesting! But, sweet....

Daddy got Isabel her favorite....shrimp cocktail from Whole Foods! No! She isn't spoiled!

Claire was way more interested in the Candy than the shrimp!

And, this is what happens when you tell her she can't eat the whole box at one time! The little Chocoholic was not happy at that development!

Stopping to smell the roses Daddy got for his girls!

Nothing looks sweeter than this on Valentines Day! Okay, maybe my kids looked sweeter, but this tasted sweeter!

To top off the celebration, Meme and Papa showed up this afternoon with more Valentine's Chocolate and gifts!

Claire's first ever Giant Hersey's Kiss! She's in Heaven!

She couldn't wait to get the paper off it!

Apparently Kisses melt in your hands! She thought that was hilarious! Daddy...not so much! He has a phobia about getting messy! Clearly, that has not rubbed off on Claire yet!

Awesome Shot at the basketball game!!!!

Shrimp Cocktail, No, the girls not spoiled. She is for sure a Daddys Girl.

I tried so hard to get Paul Ray to bring Grace a rose, but he is not a flower girl. She did get candy.

Sounds like you had a great BUSY day.

I love the Valentines Tradition.
