you have to be able to walk alone before you can skate? This chick isn't letting that little detail stop her!

We walked home from Meme and Papa's the other day and I left her in the yard with the other kids for a minute. I came back out to find her trying to put Isabel's old skates on, which someone had left in the driveway. I asked her what she thought she was doing. "I want to roll like Isabel.", she said. "I don't think you can do that, sweetie." was my answer. Wrong answer! "Yes I can"! I put the skates on her. Pronto. Yes you can! This may not be the safest experiment, but I just can't stop her and I can't put her in a bubble. She skated up and down the driveway in her walker and she landed on her bum more than once, but just got back up! Her bum is blue anyway, from Mongolian spots, and she is very happy to tell you all about her "blue butt", thankyouverymuch, so you can't tell if she gets a bruise from falling on it!!

So cute! Love that big bow. Yea, don't tell these girls they can't do something . . . or suggest that you might know better (ie, it's kind of cold out, you might want a coat). Glad they are strong, confident women.

Way to go, Claire!!!

Yep, she's one determined little girl! Better not try to tell her she can't do something! I think she'll find a way to do whatever she sets her mind on doing!

She's precious. Just make sure she has some common sense because ignorance and determination has been proven not to be a good combonation.
Thanks for making my day a little brighter. She's like a ball of sunshine, guarrenteed to cause extreme happiness and promises of hope. :)

ohmygosh. lol yes, definitely get out of her way, but man it makes you wanna pull out the bubble wrap huh? My 5 yo boy asked me today " yo mom(first off whats up with THAT!?) "wanna see me jump off something big?"(ok tough spot. Idf I say no hes going to do it, if I say yes he is going to do it. lol) He did it, and rolled and lived and is perfectly fine. I did do a tummy lurch and hold my breath and wonder how to explain this in the ER if needed.
